1. A passport that is valid for at least six months after your exit date, and at least two blank, facing and consecutive visa pages.
2. One recent passport photo, taken against a white background.
3. A colour photocopy of your passport’s information page(s).
4. A fully completed Ethiopia tourist visa application form, available on page two of our pack. For under-16s, this should be signed by a parent.
5. A copy of your flight booking confirmation, showing both your outbound and inbound flights.
6. For children under 16, the following must be provided: A copy of their full birth certificate, colour copy of the information page of both parents’ passports, and a child custody letter if parents are divorced. Alternatively, single parents bringing a child to the country should provide a solicitor’s letter and child benefit letter.
7. For multiple entry visas, you will also need to provide an itinerary of your journey, proving that you require more than one entry and exit.

Eligibility for Ethiopia tourist visas
You are eligible to apply for an Ethiopian tourist visa if you are a passport-holding UK citizen who is visiting Ethiopia for non-business purposes, such as sightseeing and recreation. Your passport must also be valid for at least six months from your date of entry.

Can I stay in Ethiopia for longer than the visa duration?
If you want to stay in Ethiopia past your visa’s end date, you must apply for an extension at the Main Department for Immigration Office in Addis Ababa.
Do I need a visa for catching connecting flights via Ethiopia?
People passing through the Addis Ababa Bole International Airport to catch a connecting flight do not need an Ethiopian visa, provided they do not leave the airport and are there for less than 12 hours.
When is an Ethiopian tourist visa valid from?
An Ethiopian tourist visa is valid from the date of entry to the country, not the date of issue.
